Thibyan Ibrahim

Thibyan Ibrahim serves as the Global Climate Policy Fellow in SLYCAN Trust. He is an Assistant Director of the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy of the Republic of the Maldives. In his current role he is involved with climate finance and resource mobilisation, while also overseeing and developing climate change adaptation and mitigation projects.  He undertakes climate finance and climate adaptation negotiations in the UNFCCC process as a coordinator for the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) and is a member of the Technology Executive Committee constituted body of the UNFCCC. He has previously worked on the implementation of the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment in the Maldives.

Thibyan holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Management from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
